/I was thinking the other day. What if I didn’t live here in Summesrville, West Virginia.Would I visit or would I plan on vacation. I think the answer to that would be yes. Let’s start with number one reason why people come to Summersville. To camp at Battle Run campground on Summersville Lake. They offer excellent facilities most of the camping spots are on the water. They have swing sets for the kids and excellent facilities, electrical hookups .
Also here in Summersville, West Virginia you choose not to visit the lake one can go to Carnifex ferry State Park, Babcock State Park You can go rock climbing witch just amazes me that the amount of people show up every single day to climb rocks well the cliffs that border summersville lake.You could try your hand at fishing. There is white water rafting on the Gauley River, mountain biking Tree top canopy tours (zip lines) or even a jet boat ride.As you can see there are tons of things to keep you busy and entertain the young ones. So what are you waiting for,come join us this summer and have a great vaction
On a personal note:
I can remember back when I was 10 or 11 years old stayed for two weeks at Battle run Campground with my grandfather and my grandmother, My grandfather was a coal miner as am I now and that was a big deal by saying two weeks during his vacation. He had a camper and a boat. We fished all over the lake. I could not ask for anything more. I am now 47 years old and those memories are still with me and I will never forget the times I spent with him on the lake.
I lost my grandfather this past December and I just wish I could thank him for taking me. Miss you Gramps…….
