If you are planning a trip or just passing through. We hope you will like our town. has many attractions to offer for such a a average size town. That people of all ages can enjoy. From hiking, camping, boating and even rock climbing.Just having all of the amenities that you need for your stay here is not what makes this town different from the rest.In fact once you have stayed in Summersville you will understand. I am referring to the people that live and work here.I have been a resident here for more years than I wish to recall.I have also lived in North Carolina and Virginia, but I have always returned to what I call my home town. I The people here are warm and friendly .You can walk down main street and they still say “how are you” or “good morning”. I just have not
found that kind of interaction anywhere I have lived. If you don’t believe me. Try it yourself.
Summersville has everything that you will need for your stay and then some. Hotels, bed and breakfast and even nearby cabins.Restaurants (I am referring to fast food) are located on rt19 as you pass by,but there are a few fine restaurants located in town and near by.You can also shop at local area shops. Go to a movie or visit some of our Historical sites. If you have a little time to spend.Drive into town and stop by Hardmans Hardware. It’s like stepping back in time.I highly recommend it.
A popular attraction Summersville Lake.It is located 7 miles south of town on rt 19. A popular camping ,swimming and boating area. It also
includes a man made beach hiking trails. That in the summer months is always full.

Located in central West Virginia it is far from major cities like Charleston or even Beckley. Route 19, which passes through Summersville is a highway taken by most travelers heading south. If you are stopping by for the night, a week or just through. We hope you use this site to maximize your time spent with us.
