Less than a mile from Summersville Lake and the Gauley River National Recreation Area, our wooded vacation homes and chalet-style cabins are perfectly situated for family getaways and romantic escapes. We’re less than 10 minutes from great dining and shopping in Summersville and the surrounding area and less than 25 from the New River Gorge National River. Wilderness Lake Chalets offers three lodging options — cabins, cottages, and vacation homes.

Chalets

Our distinctive A-frame-roofed cabins in the chalet style are perfect for the wooded environment of the New River Gorge and Summersville Lake regions. Each of our 12 private cabins includes a private deck, a sleeping loft, a full bathroom, a master bedroom, a living room with gas fireplace, and a full kitchen and dinette area. Gas grills and hot tubs, when available, are located on the decks. All are heated and air-conditioned and include ceiling fans.. Kitchen amenities in cabins include coffee makers, microwave ovens, refrigerators, cooking ranges, and conventional ovens. Linens and towels are provided

Couple’s Cove Cottages

are perfect for two, whether or not you’re planning a romantic getaway or a rock-climbing adventure in the nearby Meadow River Gorge. Both cottages include gas fireplaces and whirlpool tubs in their bedrooms. A gas fireplace in the living room, a private deck, and a fully appointed kitchen are among other cottage highlights.
Directions:

the cottages are less than a half mile off the U.S. 19 expressway. From the north, turn right onto Underwood Road then immediately left onto Deitz Road. From the south, turn left onto Underwood Road then immediately left onto Deitz Road. The cottage drive is one half mile farther on the right.
